The Inauguration of the Yangtze River Delta Biological Medicine Research and Development Center of Zhejiang Province and the First Yangtze Delta Region Biological Medicine Development Forum were held at the Conference Center of Hangzhou Branch of Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang on November 4th, 2016, with over 100 participants in attendance, includingofficials from Chinese Pharmaceutical Enterprises Association, Zhejiang Province Economic and Information Commission, Science Technology Department of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang Civil Affairs Bureau, Health and Planning Commission of Zhejiang Province, Zhejiang Food and Drug Administration, Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang, the Hangzhou Branch of Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang, etc., domestic and international experts in pharmaceutical industry and enterprise representatives. Dr. Zheming Wang, President of BSAZ, attended the inauguration as invited expert.

The site of the meeting

The conference announced the foundation of Yangtze River Delta Biological Medicine Research and Development CenterBiological Medicine Industry Alliance. Hangzhou Branch of Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang, Yangtze River Delta Biological Medicine Research and Development Center (R&D Center) signed trilateral strategic agreement with Zhejiang Food and Drug Administration, School of Pharmaceutical Science, Peking University and Beijing Productivity Center respectively. Quite a number of leaders attended the inauguration of Yangtze Delta Biological Medicine R&D Center of Zhejiang Province. In addition, Minde Zhou, Dean of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Peking University, Yongfu Lu, Vice Director of Zhejiang Food and Drug Administration, XielongLuo, Director of Yangtze River Delta Biological Medicine Research and Development Center, and Xiangrong Shao, President of Hangzhou Branch of Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang, jointly unveiled the plaque of “On-the-job Education center of School of Pharmaceutical Science, Peking University”.

Over 20 domestic and international experts of R&D Center were introduced on the conference. Mr. Xiangrong Shao and Mr. Xielong Luo presented the Specially-employed Certificates to all experts. Dr. Zheming Wang attended the first expert working discussion of R&D Center, during which a lot of good ideas and suggestions about future innovation development were exchanged.

Mr. Xielong Luo introduced the situation of R&D Center. Aiming at integrating resources, constructing “Platform Plus” patterns, connecting innovation and supporting services, the R&D Center will provide services for transformation, upgrading, and rapid and healthy growth of biological and pharmaceutical enterprises in Zhejiang Province. The R&D Center will build an accelerator platform for international cooperation of new drugs. The main services of the platform will include “four promoting”: promoting innovation information symmetry, promoting competitiveness of business dealings, promoting acceleration of project transaction, promoting practicality of connecting innovation and capitals. Meanwhile, the platform will assist governments at all levels in Zhejiang to promote agglomeration of biological and pharmaceutical industry and provide services for biological and pharmaceutical enterprises on innovation development promotion.
