The awarding ceremony of Qianjiang Friendship Award for foreign experts in Hangzhou was solemnly held at Zhijiang Hotel on October 19, 2015. Government leaders and officials attended the ceremony included Mr. Zhang Hongming, Mayer of People’s Government of Hangzhou Municipality, Mr. Wang Hong, Secretary General of People’s Government of Hangzhou Municipality, Mr. Guo Heyang, Director of Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, etc.

Qianjiang Friendship Award, which is set to honor the foreign experts for their outstanding contribution to Hangzhou’s economic and social development, as well as to further promote opening up and exchange cooperation in economy, education, science and technology, culture, etc., is the highest honor given by People’s Government of Hangzhou Municipality to foreign experts in Hangzhou. Among the 10 awardees is Prof. Eckert Heiner, BSAZ’s foreign expert from Germany.

A short film about Prof. Eckert Heiner was broadcasted in the ceremony, introducing his academic achievement as well as his contribution since he joined BSAZ. The medal and certificate, as a token of appreciation for Prof. Eckert Heiner’s efforts to the development of Hangzhou, was presented by Mr. Zhang Hongming in person. Meanwhile, Prof. Eckert Heiner won both unanimous approval and warm applause from governments, company representatives and media.
